John Arum Could Have Been Saved By A Sat Phone

On Thursday, an environmental lawyer went missing in Seattle while he was hiking. The attorney goes by the name John and is the son of Top Rank boxing promoter Bob Arum. The older Arum and his wife were in Los Angeles for the first leg of the promotional tour of the Pacquio-Margarito fight in November when Bob received the bad news about their son.

John was found dead hours after the search operations started. It was deemed that he fell at least 300 feet on the north face of Storm King Mountain. He hiked alone but he was an experienced hiker so the authorities marked the incident as a freak accident.

I am just thinking if John had a sat phone in his pocket when he fell, things have turned differently. It’s highly probable that he could have been rescued right away. Maybe he was still alive after the fall but since he cannot reach anyone, he just had to wait until someone found him but it was too late.
