Cook and Wiley Incorporated is well known in the US for their Richmond Videography Services, Videonconferencing and the certified services of their Charlottesville Court Reporters. Their ISDN, IP address, Polycom VSX 7000 camera and 37 inch plasma television are their recent pride as they lead the videonconferencing suppliers in the area. To know more about their services and how can they be a part of your business success, do take some time to peruse their portfolio.

The power and the capability of internet can really go beyond our imagination. Who would have thought that people can explore the world in just one click: go shopping, pay bills, hire people, do business, do banking, chat with anyone from anywhere and a lot more other things. Despite having different languages (6800 known languages spoken in the 200 countries of the world), communication has never been a problem at all. Again, thanks to the internet. One is able to access, let’s say, a French blog and be able to get a gist what the author conveys with the help of an online translation site like Translia.com.

There are several site translators on the web but do take note that not all delivers fluent and accurate translation. So be very cautious because you might just end up getting confused if you do not choose a proven reliable translation service who just translate verbatimly without actually making sure the thought conveyed is accurate. A satisfied friend actually shared the site of Translia after she was able to access a German online shop where a particular model of her favorite branded bag is offered. Lucky her she found that and big thanks to the internet and an online translator site.

Last year, I was dead set on gifting myself a brand new mobile phone for Christmas. Even though I’m not really a gadget freak and never had I went gaga over the latest models to the extent of buying it, I admit, I “lusted” for the most raved model from Apple last year. An iPhone, that is. However, it remained just a dream as having such (at its ongoing rate) was next to impossible. So I decided to forgo that fancy and instead, be contented with the cheapest Blackberry model in the market that time. After all, Twittering, Facebooking and Emailing on the go were my main purpose for upgrading. Tremendous work load poured my way towards the year end which enabled me to save enough for a Blackberry.

Fate has it, however, that it wasn’t the right time to own a Blackberry that time. My almost 3 year old laptop terminally conked out so my savings were allotted for a much more important thing, a laptop, especially that my line of work is dependent on it. I had no choice but to bid farewell to my Blackberry dream and then bought a new laptop instead.

I have already forgotten this fancy until I saw recently my mom’s new mobile phone that she bought abroad: a Nokia E71. My iPhone dream (not the Blackberry dream) suddenly was revived upon learning that she bought it at a much cheaper price (about 50%) compared to local rates of the same phone here. I asked her to check the iPhone’s price there when they get back on April. If the price will be within the budget, I’d definitely request her to buy one for me. I’m okay even if she won’t buy me iphone accessories and an iphone case there because I can always check out MobileFun.co.uk anyway. At least, I have an online catalog to see and select myself the stuffs I want. It’s very timely that a friend based in UK will be coming home for vacation on May. So I’ll have the shipping course through her just in case international shipping is impossible. I can see that they sell an iphone dock at a competitive price. Mobile Fun is the leading online retailer for mobile phone accessories and downloads in the UK and their vast catalog is so fun to browse especially that their rates are alluring and the cheapest on the web, if I may add. What I like best about them is that they accept paypal so I can definitely use my online earnings with guilt just a tad.

But then again, let’s hope and pray first for the cheapest iPhone for me…hehe!

The husband can attest how forgetful I’ve become. Sometimes he will just laugh it off and jokingly remind me how the anesthesia I got when I gave birth and had my gall bladder removal surgery last year is now taking its effect badly. But the truth is, research says anesthesia does cause minor memory loss post operation period but not long enough to last through years. Doctors and research says occasional memory lapses or forgetfulness may be associated with depression, stress, lack of sleep, and normal aging. Yikes, I think there’s a little more emphasis on the last one.

My way of coping up with this memory lapses, is that I do take down notes. I have an organizer where I write important stuffs to do, things to blog, appointments, etc. But since I’m online for most hours of the day, I’ll be trying this new organizer free service on the web called Springpad. Simply put, it’s an online tool that lets you collect, organize and share information among fellow Springpad users. This comes very handy this Holiday season, the time when Christmas activities can get really overwhelming. It can let you store gift ideas, travel plans, recipes, the wines you served and drank or any to-do tasks you might have. You can also set it to alarm and remind you via email so no memory lapses to blame should these tasks are left undone. Another cool feature this tool has is that, you can share with fellow Springpad users where they can get ideas from your list and vice versa.

So in this very busy season, be sure to have everything remembered. Just Spring It! and be reminded by Springpad.

Apparently, navigational and Global Positioning System or GPS devices aren’t still widely used in our country. Perhaps, the lack of concept know-how and the steep introductory prices do not come appealing to many even those electronic geeks out there. I think it was just earlier this year when a certain In-Car Mobile Electronics supplier introduced their most affordable GPS device, the Navigator A800, for an introductory price of Php18,500. So you see, the affluent ones more probably can just afford this one. The middle class car owners may just instead splurge on quality car receivers and car speakers or bluetooth headsets since mobile phones now have become a necessity.

People are yet to know more about the promising advantages of these navigational devices. In fact, I just happened to browse over at Shopwiki, a revolutionized online shopping guide and I learned a lot of pretty amusing facts about these devices. So should you wish to know more about the different types of GPS devices and curious where to acquire them, just check out the Car Audio and Video section of Shopwiki.

And so it’s not really the The End yet.

I’ve mentioned last week that my laptop died on me when it displayed the dreaded Blue Screen of Death. It didn’t want to proceed with the rebooting. Prior to that, the husband discovered that the BIOS didn’t register the right memory specs so his assuming that the second piece is defective already. We went later that afternoon to Gilmore and bought a computer memory upgrade of 1 GB. Miraculously, the laptop booted when the saleslady turned it on. So is this some kind of resurrection? I’m convinced though that the real “End” may happen anytime now as this has been dramatically slooowwww and conking out these past few months.

I can hear Santa’s Ho! Ho! Ho! and for me, it only means one thing…could it be a new laptop? Let’s just wait and see.

Babies surely do grow up so fast in just a blink of an eye. I say this because I just happened to browse my external hard disk files and spent a few minutes watching my son’s videos taken during his newborn days up to his toddler months. We’re really lucky that technology has paved way for us to be provided with easy access and means to store these precious moments through audio visual breakthroughs. The presence of high tech video cameras, video capable mobile phones and web cams enable us to store these precious memories in clear and crisp quality format files like DVD, AVI files, Blu-Ray DVD, HDV, HD-AVI. Gone are the days when 8 film, 16mm and 8mm films are the common format files and can only be watched using betamax or a VHS player.

I am certain that a lot of us have kept videos of our yesteryears in those formats. But do you know that you can still cherish and be able to watch them all over again without having to excavate those buried VHS players in the storage room? There is a thing called film transfer technology (like 8mm film to DVD conversion) that preserves and even restores priceless memories that cannot be replaced. That’s where Video Conversion Experts has been known for in the last 25 years. They expertly use broadcast quality Hollywood film scanners and tape transfer machines in digitally transferring 16mm, Super 8 and 8mm to DVD. Now we don’t have to worry about not being able to watch those precious moments captured by outdated video gadgets.

I just blogged about how the call center industry has been helping the economy with regards to the foreign investments it has put up in the country within the last decade. Now I suddenly feel nostalgic with my one and a half year stint as a call center Purchasing staff as I saw in Facebook photos and videos of former colleagues about the recent Family Day they held for one of the sites. They posted links about their recent offsite activities as well as a corporate video of the president conveying her congratulatory message to the whole team. Makes me feel proud to have, for once, worked for the company and with the whole team. It’s just sad that I have to cut short my employment term due to some other priorities but nevertheless, I’m glad and thankful for the experience and opportunities given to me.

The congratulatory video from the President was very effective and it moved me. If Groovy Like a Movie has just a local counterpart, I would have readily concluded that it was them who made it with the kind of corporate video production service done. It was really superb and the video quality was truly outrageous. Truly the key values, mission, and goals of the company was very well highlighted in the video.
