Finally, after exhaustively completing tons of online jobs in the last couple of days, I’m spending my Sunday just nice, relaxed and slow. I’ve accomplished much of tasks and as it is a long weekend with the special non-working holiday tomorrow, I’ll get to bond with my boys tomorrow without thinking about any pending deliverables. I also I just needed to work and finish all because tomorrow night’s the trip of my son’s nanny to the province. She’ll be gone for a week for her much needed semi-annual vacation back home. So that means, my computer time this coming week will be limited as I need to attend to the little one. So before I embark with a busy and tiring week, I’m going to make the most out of my Sunday. Have a restful and blessed Sunday you all, too!

The Importance of Exit Signs.

Whenever I’m inside of any establishment, whether it be in a high rise building or just a low one, I always see to it that I’m aware where the exit signs are located. If possible, I’m just always near them especially if it’s one crowded place like the cinema house. Basically, it’s for safety and precautionary purposes because no one exactly knows when a fortuitous event strikes like fire, earthquake, or any other situation that needs immediate evacuation of the place. We often just ignore these signs under normal circumstance but we should NOT take this ever for granted. More than these signs, we must also be abreast about the things to do and observe when such unfortunate events arise. First, there’s absolutely no room for panic. Be alert. Follow instructions. Offices and schools usually hold fire drills. It is in these drills where we can learn a lot of safety procedures to observe.

Friday Meet Up.

I’ll be going out in a while to meet some friends and celebrate somebody’s natal day. It’ll definitely be one exciting, fun, gastronomic and chat-filled day ahead. I better ready my ears and my mouth as I know that we’ll be discussing nonstop about anything under the sun from our online works, family issues, fashion, shopping, our kids and even sensitive issues like enzyte side effects. Some of them will be bringing their DSLRs so that means it’ll be another meet up filled with camwhoring moments.

New Age..New Look

As my birthday is just a few days away, here I am browsing on the web for new Hairstyles that will look good on me. Yes, I am up for a makeover although not really a huge one because it just has to do with the hair. It’s been a while since I last went to the salon so this period will be the perfect time to initiate a change. Motherhood and immense work load made me somehow neglect to care for my looks so as I get a year older, I vow to make my face look younger.

I just found a great resource of the Latest Hairstyles on the web and I’m so ecstatic. I got tons of options now aside from the boring and usual straight cut which I’ve had for a long time. I’m thinking of saying bye-bye to my long hair and sport a short bob haircut this time. Not really the shortest ones that’s close to a barber’s cut but more of like Victoria Beckham’s hair here:

I wonder if this fits me good. Having a chin-length cut of straight Hair Styles or curls and waves is one tip I got for my face’s shape. Hmm it’s kind of confusing me still but I guess that’s what hairdressers are for. I’ll just ask for a recommendation from them.

I’m not really a baghag and never have I wished to own any of those much coveted overly expensive signature bags. For one, I don’t see the point of me owning a pricey bag when I’m just a stay at home mom and I rarely go out. If ever I do go out with my son, I loathe carrying too much bags around so just a diaper bag will do. Further, in these times when economic life is such a challenge, I’d rather use the money on things that are far more important to my family such as food, monthly bills, health, life and home insurance, educational fund among others. Just as we are constantly reminded, we need to be wiser money handling matter wise, if we want to be secured. It doesn’t also hurt when we try to live simpler. After all, there’s more to life than these material things.

Online Friendship

Last week, I had a great time partying for 2 consecutive days with my online, turned in-real-life, friends. Two of our abroad-based friends went home for a vacation and as we’ve been chatting, twittering and chatting daily for a number of years now, they spearheaded a grand get together so we can chat face to face and just have a great time..away from the keyboard this time. We had an all day food feasting, chitchatting, picture taking on the first day then the festivities continued the next day in a fast food chain with our kids in tow as the party was actually for them.

Isn’t it just amazing how the internet connects strangers and make new friends? The connection that even goes beyond the online world and build lasting friendships just like we have that blossomed and started in a wedding e-groups and a digital scrapbooking forum several years ago.

With lots of social networking sites such as TheLifePub, Facebook, Friendster, MySpace, Twitter and chat platforms such as Yahoo Messenger and IRC, to meet new people having the same interest as ours is so easy in spite of the hustle and bustle of our daily lives. For some, the web technology has even paved way for them to meet people and find their true love.

No man is an island. All of us have social needs and the internet is one useful and helpful tool in fulfilling that.

No Party Next Week.

My heart is actually breaking that my son will not have a party on his birthday next week. Due to budget constraints as we prioritize the Little Mansion that we’re currently building, we decided that it will just be celebrated intimately with our families (both sides). On Monday, we’ll treat my in-laws to a special dinner in a restaurant then have a little cake blowing ceremony (complete with party decors such as balloons and party custom plastic cups) the next day at my folks’ place with a little snack feasting in the afternoon. Then, to cap off his birthday celebration, we’ll spend our Saturday visiting the aquatic animals and the wide array of fishes in the famous Oceanarium in the city. He’s such an animal lover so I’m pretty sure he’ll get ecstatic to see those colorful water species. It may be a three-day celebration but it’ll still be less taxing and stressful (not to mention cheaper) as compared to having a grand party. After all, what’s important is that we get to celebrate still albeit so simple and intimate and above all, the celebrant will feel how he’s so much loved not only during his special day but always.

ID Renewals

One of the To Accomplish tasks in my list for this month is to have my Social Security System (SSS) ID renewed. You see, I’ve been married for four years now but my ID still reflects my maiden name. I have changed my status early on through my former employer but since updating the ID was another process that should be done individually and personally in the SSS office, I’ve been putting this for so long well, simply because I don’t have the drive to do so. Well, not really much implication (since my records are all updated) on my account, I can still take advantage of all the benefits like maternity, social security disability, sickness benefits and others. It’s just that I lack ID cards especially since I’m not employed. Good thing I have my passport with me but it’ll also be expiring next month so I need to work on the renewals of all my IDs.

We don’t celebrate Thanksgiving here in our neck of the woods but I’m one with my US-based friends and relatives as well as with the whole American nation in celebrating this holiday. No, we won’t be gobbling a big Thanksgiving feast tonight (roasted turkey, mashed potato, pumpkin pies complete with a Fastin to neutralize the fats and avoid the holiday weight gain) but I’m participating in the Black Friday shopping mania tomorrow through a friend. So the result of this quiz is absolutely true. I’ve listed down the irresistible deals I saw over at Walmart and I hope that my friend will have enough energy to join the thick crowd of shoppers all giddy to take advantage of the early Thanksgiving shopping in the mall.

Party Theme

It just dawned on me that come Wednesday next week, my son will turn 21 months old and just three months away until he turns 2. So this means that I have to start planning already for his party. Compared to his first birthday, we’ll be having a smaller and much simpler, probably with lesser guests for this year. I now have an idea how we’ll most likely have the party but the thing that boggles my mind at the moment is what party theme will be having. Just like last year, I’d like to incorporate again the little one’s interest. So it’s a toss between Barney or Cars theme since those two fascinates my son the most. The deciding factor I guess will be on the availability of themed party stuffs and props (like toy auto accessories) that I can buy in local party supply stores.

I find this Funky Salon 4 Kidz Party theme really interesting and unique but obviously I can’t have it for my son.
