I received the gift wrapped book on the eve of Christmas. This one was indeed a surprise because I didn’t have the slightest idea that he’ll get me one. I almost bought one when Kathy and I were at Powerbooks, it was a good decision that I didn’t buy.

As you’ve noticed, I have been missing in action because a lot of offline activities came my way before Christmas. The most overwhelming and devastating, I may add, is that my son got sick and was hospitalized for four days. He got a bad case of colds and cough that lead to asthma then it got worst to pneumonia. He got discharged just the other day. Just in time for our Christmas celebration at home. Nevertheless, we’re thankful for, first: he’s okay now and recuperating very well. Second, we’re grateful that we celebrated Christmas at home and not in the hospital and third, big thanks to affordable health insurance. The husband’s HMO took care of everything so we didn’t shell out that much. So that’s how our Holiday has been so far. I’ll blog more in the days to come about our festivities. How was yours?

So how are you coping with the hustle and bustle that Christmas preparations bring? Are you done with your gift shopping and wrapping tasks yet? Everyone’s surely busy with the onset of the busiest yet happiest event of the year. But amidst these preparations, may we be able to handle the stress the season brings. After all, the least we want is spending our aguinaldos (Christmas cash gifts) on acne treatment, right? So let’s not let the pressure get into us. Just smile, feel the spirit and may we reflect on the true meaning of this season.

We have so much tasks to do and topping the list is Christmas gifts shopping. Although I have already started a few weeks back, we still have loads to take care of and perhaps a number of bazaars and malls to raid.

Online, well, I have always been busy because of my writing projects and works. The season also means photo overload so storing these photos in my EHD and online backup tasks are just necessary since it won’t be until the season ends before I can have them all printed.

Reunions, get-togethers, parties. I expect endless food feasts and I am already conditioned that I’ll be a gastronomer this month. Fun..fun..and more fun.

Family getaway. We’ve got a new huge luggage and I have also ordered the little one’s Avent Tempo Nurser bottle for a more organized and less stuffed travel baggage. Got new jammies too for the little one to withstand the cool nights of Baguio.

Despite being the busiest month, December remains my favorite month because it simply is the happiest time of the year. And just as the song goes…

“It’s the most wonderful of the year….”

Earlier today, my brother-in-law who also happens to be my 19 month old son’s ninong (godfather) asked what’s the ideal gift for him this year. Graciously, I told him anything would do but I think, it will be more useful if he’d have 2T clothes instead of toys. For one, it can be utilized over and over for a long time. Two, my son’s interest over a particular toy easily fades and three, there’s no more space in his toy chest. Or another option, his Baby Bedding Sets are seemingly asking for replacements already. Board books and educational materials are also much appreciated since he has developed interest in school activities at such a young age. That’s the advantage of living here with my in laws where there’s a pre-school within the compound. He even has his own backpack that he carries as he run to the assembly line for the flag ceremony. Gifts that come in ampao (red envelopes that Chinese use for money gifts) are very much welcome, too, which will go straight to his savings account.
