Just Laugh It Off

We often forget life is just short and is so precious to waste on hatred or any ill feeling or any trouble. So instead of wallowing in negativity, let’s all just have fun, smile and think of happy thoughts. The mere fact that we wake up each morning greeted by the beaming sunrise means that we’re given a chance to make our lives worth living. And yes, laughing indeed is a great way to unload any of our life’s unwanted baggage. Another realization is that, laughing or basically enjoying life enables you to save on acne creams. Remember, stress causes breakouts.

I know, I should read this reminded once in a while.

A “What If” Instance

When I entered college, I had this goal to graduate with an Accounting major degree and consequently become a Certified Public Accountant later on. The first one and a half years of my pre-commerce years were directed on that path until I decided that accounting seemed not for me. So instead, I spent my majoring years taking up Business Administration, upon my Dad’s encouragement and influence, too. I perfectly love what my career with such background (degree) has become. However, there sometimes comes a point when I wonder “what if” I pursued my first plan. Perhaps I could be working in the top accounting firms abroad by now or maybe in a Las Vegas accounting firm which most of my CPA friends are yearning to work for. I’ve heard about KondlerCPA a lot not only as one of the high-notch accounting firms in Nevada but a very welcoming enterprise to work for. They provide exceptional accounting and financial business solutions and their expertise are concentrated on various industries like petroleum distribution, auto dealerships, developers, contractors and a whole lot more. At any rate, it’s not actually a dead end yet for me because I can still make my initial plans work in a few years time and pursue an accounting major degree.

Bed Weather Day.

Today has been a bed weather day. It drizzled throughout the afternoon and contrary to yesterday’s humid temperature, today’s a lot colder allowing my son to nap more soundly and longer than his usual. If not for my online works, I would have lounged and snoozed beside him, too. For a tropical country that is so used to humid temperatures and wood burning stoves are not household furniture staples, cool afternoons are very much relished. I’ve just heard from the evening news that there was a Low Pressure Area somewhere south so that explains the occasional rains we experienced today. The skies will be clearer tomorrow so here comes another hot and humid afternoon to toil.

After Ketsana, Here Comes Parma.

After the Filipinos mercilessly received the right hook punch of Typhoon Ondoy (Ketsana), here comes another blow, probably a left hook this time courtesy of Typhoon Pepeng (Parma). The weather bureau alerted everyone to prepare as this super typhoon with winds of 195 kilometres per hour (kph) and gusts of up to 235 kph is much stronger over Ondoy’s 85-kph center winds.

Parma’s strength is classified as Category 4 and according to the Saffir-Simpson damage scale, the potential damage it can cause at landfall are as follows:

* Curtainwall failures with some complete roof structure failures on small residences.
* Shrubs, trees, and all signs are blown down.
* Complete destruction of mobile homes.
* Extensive damage to doors and windows.
* Low-lying escape routes may be cut by rising water 3-5 hours before arrival of the centre of the storm.
* Major damage to lower floors of structures near the shore.
* Terrain lower than 3 metres (10 feet) above sea level may be flooded requiring massive evacuation of residential areas as far inland as 10 km (6 miles).

There is also the potential for flooding further inland due to heavy rain.

Yes, even the parts that hurt, even the ones that are feeling disease right now. It’s alright to love what is in pain. More than alright, that’s exactly where your love is needed the most. So why not touch that part that hurts and smile at it, at yourself through it, and whisper: ”I love you.”

I hear you Lord. And I’m trying real hard to let my heart do as You say…to ward off those unnecessary emotions anchoring me further deep in pain. May this message enlighten my mind further so I can finally find solace.
