All of My Cooking Skills Were Learned From Sitting on My Couch

I am an AVID Food Network watcher. I don’t think I’ve ever used a cookbook when cooking dinner. I just decide to make something I’ve seen on the Food Network that day and print the recipe off of the website. I especially like Semi-Homemade with Sandra Lee and Barefoot Contessa with Ina Garten. Sandra Lee comes up with the easiest, best tasting recipes I’ve ever used. I love looking for ’shortcuts’ when cooking, as I usually don’t have a lot of time in between work, my son, errand running and housekeeping. I have tried a few of Ina Garten’s recipes but her food is so beautiful and complicated looking, that I get intimidated every time I try to make something of hers. Racheal Ray has some fabulous recipes and Bobby Flay makes everything he does look easy. His beer can chicken is amazing, as well as his New England clam chowder. The best part of watching a cooking show, in my opinion, is that with direct tv hd, the food looks so mouthwatering that I get hungry and have to go cook! I suppose that’s what they want you to do and I love that I don’t even have to leave my couch to figure out what’s for dinner!
