Heirlooms.
Bag and purse shopping is the recent fascination among my online friends. My twitter account gets flooded with tweets instantly as soon as one brings up a topic that is related to bags. It’s as if Balenciaga, Hermes, Louis Vuitton, and Coach are the magic passwords to ignite a very lively discussion over at Twitter no matter what time of the day is. Just recently, some of them shopped for Gucci, Liz Claiborne, Coach, and even the way expensive Louis Vuitton bags. These undeniably cost a fortune and I so admire their determination and most especially, for having the resources to acquire such luxurious signature bags. Only in my dreams will I be able to acquire such.

Aside from being baghags and fancying madly for these brands for like forever, the reason behind their habitual shopping is that these will serve as heirlooms they can pass on to their daughters. It’s a sort of investment, they believe. Well, I have nothing against their interest in these very costly bags. To each is his own. If I were to be asked and given the means, I’d rather set aside and splurge the money on our priorities like for our housing project, for future monthly housing amortizations, my son’s educational fund, future business funds, etc. Further, if I were to buy an heirloom, I’d prefer assets or properties that my children will surely benefit from in the future. It could also be precious gems or jewelries like a Chopard pendant specifically a “Happy Diamond” Circle Floating Diamond Necklace as these gems are valuable until eternity. This specific pendant is simply elegant, dashing and its sheer sophistication is what sets it apart from the others. Another reason why I do not share the same interest with them (at the moment) is that, I do not work and have very scarce opportunities to strut them off. For now, I’m very much contented with my son’s diaper bag that is so easy to lug around. I can go out, walk around freely without attracting temptations or thinking about scratches or tiny stains that might leave an unsightly mark.
