Last year, I was dead set on gifting myself a brand new mobile phone for Christmas. Even though I’m not really a gadget freak and never had I went gaga over the latest models to the extent of buying it, I admit, I “lusted” for the most raved model from Apple last year. An iPhone, that is. However, it remained just a dream as having such (at its ongoing rate) was next to impossible. So I decided to forgo that fancy and instead, be contented with the cheapest Blackberry model in the market that time. After all, Twittering, Facebooking and Emailing on the go were my main purpose for upgrading. Tremendous work load poured my way towards the year end which enabled me to save enough for a Blackberry.
Fate has it, however, that it wasn’t the right time to own a Blackberry that time. My almost 3 year old laptop terminally conked out so my savings were allotted for a much more important thing, a laptop, especially that my line of work is dependent on it. I had no choice but to bid farewell to my Blackberry dream and then bought a new laptop instead.
I have already forgotten this fancy until I saw recently my mom’s new mobile phone that she bought abroad: a Nokia E71. My iPhone dream (not the Blackberry dream) suddenly was revived upon learning that she bought it at a much cheaper price (about 50%) compared to local rates of the same phone here. I asked her to check the iPhone’s price there when they get back on April. If the price will be within the budget, I’d definitely request her to buy one for me. I’m okay even if she won’t buy me iphone accessories and an iphone case there because I can always check out MobileFun.co.uk anyway. At least, I have an online catalog to see and select myself the stuffs I want. It’s very timely that a friend based in UK will be coming home for vacation on May. So I’ll have the shipping course through her just in case international shipping is impossible. I can see that they sell an iphone dock at a competitive price. Mobile Fun is the leading online retailer for mobile phone accessories and downloads in the UK and their vast catalog is so fun to browse especially that their rates are alluring and the cheapest on the web, if I may add. What I like best about them is that they accept paypal so I can definitely use my online earnings with guilt just a tad.
But then again, let’s hope and pray first for the cheapest iPhone for me…hehe!
