So aside from the partying and merrymaking activities, undoubtedly, December is also the month of endless shopping and sales in malls. In the US, Black Friday jumpstarts the holiday mood. Here in the Philippines, there’s no such event but what are simultaneously anticipated not only by shopaholics but everyone else, are the mall wide sales and bazaars everywhere. It is suffice to say that December is the shopping month of the year. So when we blab about shopping, it also means or spells one thing….E.X.P.E.N.S.E. And by expenses, there are two things that go with it…cash or credit.
Credit companies deems also that the month of December (and the preceeding ber months) are the perfect period to roll out 0 credit cards promos or the common deal called 0% interest craze. Cardholders can purchase and have theirs billed in staggered manner at absolutely 0% interest. One bank even recently introduced their “buy now, bill me later” promo where billing starts by January 2010. The credit card companies also deem that this is the perfect time to avail credit cards in anticipation of the shopping craze. Even without looking at the statistics, I’m pretty sure that these companies boast a remarkable increase in their quotas. For the consumers, they should also exercise utmost care and study before they apply for a credit card. They should compare credit cards first especially that these cards also suit different needs and requirements. But above all these, wise and frugal spending must also be exercised come shopping time even if you are armed with a great shopping tool in the form of a credit card.
