I just got offline from a YM chat with a childhood nurse friend who’s now based in South California. We’ve talked about her civil wedding that took place a couple of months ago and her would-be church wedding here in the Philippines next year. It really is great to hear that she’s doing well not only as a wife but in her career as well. As much as possible, they would like to defer their baby plans because of the impending church wedding and also, she’ll be enrolling soon in an online university for her master’s degree program in nursing. I quite didn’t get the name of where she’ll pursue her studies but I think she mentioned Western Governors University. She says, this school is popular for the high quality online education they provide through their comprehensive course offerings like the online nursing degree. Their healthcare degree programs are now accredited by the Commission for Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE). My friend deems enrolling in an online university perfect especially that she can’t give up her hospital work and doing it online provides much ease, comfort and flexibility.
I wish her all the luck and success. But I hope they don’t defer their baby plans for too long because she’s not getting any younger. It’s a wonderful experiences and well, yes, I’m excited to share mommy notes with her.
