Echofon is ♥

Twitter has been a part, not only of my online life, but of my body system, I think in the past year or so. This social networking and microblogging tool has enabled me to build connections, promote my blog (and get to learn other blogs too), get updated with how my fave celebrities are doing and read the latest news. It was through Twitter where I learned how could be one with the nation when typhoon Ondoy and Pepeng struck the country and helped the victims through retweets of donation relief centers and other means.

But more than these ways, I use twitter mostly to get in touch with my dear online friends so it has become our instant messaging tool which is more functional and convenient than other messengers because you can still get in the loop and get updated for the time that you’re offline through backreading tweets.

Since I work online and a web browser is a must-open window, a Firefox add-on that just pop the tweets within the same browser makes my Twitter life a lot easier although sometimes, it can be distracting and it interferes with work especially if a juicy topic comes up and everyone’s online and Twitter’s flooded. Formerly known as Twitterfox, they have made several improvements and upgrades with the new version now called as Echofon. This app can also be used for the iPhone.

The reason why I appreciate Echofon even more because the Twitter popup window opens faster now, it can handle all standard Twitter tasks such as direct messages and mentions (they are more classified clearly now), and can easily post links to the current page in Firefox by just clicking a link icon.
