Typhoon Ondoy Floods Metro Manila

Please, Lord, stop the heavy rains.

It has been raining non-stop since last night as typhoon “Ondoy” (international code name Ketsana) continues to hit Luzon and flooding the majority of the Metro Manila streets and nearby areas. At around 2 PM this noon, the husband and I braved the rains outside and peeped how are our neighbors residing in the lower part of our vicinity doing. These are the depressing pictures taken from my camphone:

Submerged.
Submerged cars and houses

The lowest part of our street
This is the downhill and lowest part of our street. How high the flood is? Enough to touch the power and cable lines.

Mga inilikas na gamit.
Furniture and other household stuffs evacuated

Bayanihan..they're using ropes and improvised salbabidas to pull the stranded homeowners
Bayanihan spirit. People use ropes and improvised floats to pull the stranded neighbors out of their completely submerged homes.
