Asher Starts To Save.

Sharing my 18-month old son’s pictures taken yesterday as he excitedly dropped the coins into his piggybank.

This piggybank was actually a birthday party giveaway which he got last year. I think that was around August last year and from then on, his Daddy and I would drop our spare coins with the intention of depositing it to our baby’s savings bank account (which we opened earlier this year) when this gets filled. With my son’s developed dexterity, he now fondly begs for coins for him to “shoot” them into this tiny hole.  He almost even cried last night when we told him that there are no more coins left.

He may not perfectly understand yet the concept of “saving” and the value of money but his understanding of “dropping coins” into this holed container would be one good way of orientation. Agree or not?

Piggy bank is a good start. I introduced my son to save at about your son’s age too. He liked it and would hunt for coins around the house or begged them from us. Until now he will automatically keep his money in his piggy bank whenever he gets some.
